Client Testimonials
-
Matt Gilsenan, Stud Manager of Norelands Stud
We received yearlings off Heritage Thoroughbreds to consign at the Orby Sale and they slotted in very well with the yearlings we prepared ourselves, they were like peas in a pod. The yearlings were prepared to an excellent standard which enabled us to show them off and maximise their purchase price

Anthony Mithen, Stud Principal of Rosemont Stud
I must say I feel lucky to have stumbled across Heritage Thoroughbreds. A business operating out of the most divine farm and facilities, run by two hard working brothers with a destiny for success. I was blown away by a recent visit to see our 6 mares in residence there. Their attention to detail is extremely good and this was showcased when all 6 of my mares got in foal on their first covers.
-
James Fleming, Awbeg Stud
Tom and Charlie did a great job looking after our mare and foal that boarded with them. They came back looking a million dollars. The lads were great to deal with and kept us informed every step of the way.
-
Raphael Freire, Amo Racing Trainer
I was extremely happy to see two of my horses look so well on a recent visit to Heritage Thoroughbreds. Their attention to detail, communication and commitment to ensuring the highest standards possible is second to none. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone and will definitely be using their services for the foreseeable future.

Tony Fry, Sumbe General Manager
Delighted with the services of Heritage Thoroughbreds caring for our mares. Excellent communication and our mares returned to France in foal and looking in great condition.
-
Emily Scott, Director of Racing - Highclere Thoroughbred Racing
We used Heritage Thoroughbreds to summer three of our jumpers this year and we were thrilled with how the horses did for their three months out. Tom & Charlie were extremely accomodating, allowing us to pop in to see the horses at our convenience and they put on a lovely open morning for the Highclere Owners as well. The trainers, Dan Skelton and Harry Derham, were equally delighted with the condition of the horses and so we will definitely be using Heritage Thoroughbreds again.
-
Roberto Di Paolo, Trainer and Breeder
Thank you for the professionalism of your work. Without a doubt, next time we come to England, we’ll come to you.
-
David Foy, Owner & Breeder
My mare is looked after like royalty at Heritage Thoroughbreds.
Our Location
Manton House Stud – Heritage Thoroughbreds
Manton House needs little introduction to those familiar with the heritage of British racing. Its story begins in 1850, and for more than a century and a half the residents of Manton have been nothing short of illustrious, shaping the sport at its very highest level. Today, this historic estate enters its next chapter as Manton House Stud becomes the proud home to Heritage Thoroughbreds.
Set a few miles north‑west of the picturesque market town of Marlborough, the Stud enjoys an enviable position at the heart of the thoroughbred world. It lies within easy reach of the renowned Lambourn training yards and many of the country’s most sought‑after stallion stations, offering both convenience and connection. Heritage Thoroughbreds is superbly located to support every stage of a horse’s career, from first steps to elite competition.
Approached through mature hedgerows and beneath towering, time‑worn oak trees, the stable complex sits in quiet harmony with its surroundings. The facilities have been thoughtfully designed to blend tradition with modern excellence and include a horse walker, lunge ring, ménage, veterinary stocks, a dedicated sitting‑up room, and a welcoming owners’ lounge. The stables themselves retain the character and architectural details of the 19th century, enhanced with Equilume lighting and discreet camera systems to provide optional 24‑hour monitoring and peace of mind.
Beyond the yard, the post‑and‑rail paddocks are maintained to an exacting standard, with a level of care more commonly associated with championship sporting grounds. They are assessed quarterly and managed continuously and meticulously throughout the year. Abundant nursery paddocks provide an ideal setting for foaling mares, sales‑bound yearlings, and racehorses enjoying a restorative spell, whether for rest or rehabilitation. In addition, the Stud benefits from expansive, beautifully manicured turnout paddocks, perfectly suited to broodmares, foals, and developing yearlings.
The rolling limestone and chalk hills, combined with expertly managed grazing, create a natural environment in which horses can truly flourish. This unique topography supports strong bone development, soundness, and overall well‑being, giving every horse at Manton House Stud the best possible foundation to grow, mature, and pursue their racing ambitions on the world’s greatest stages. Ample space allows young athletes to gallop, play, and socialise with their paddock companions—an invaluable advantage when rearing future champions at Heritage Thoroughbreds.
Above all, the safety, welfare, and happiness of every horse entrusted to our care remains our highest priority. The trust our clients place in us is both an honour and a responsibility we take extremely seriously. Owners receive regular communication, including weekly reports, photographs, and ongoing feedback throughout the season. Stud visits are not only welcomed but actively encouraged, allowing clients to remain closely connected to their horses and to the timeless setting of Manton House Stud.
